At this time, how to book safely?

Book today care-free with the cancellation insurance

This entitles you to cancel your booking up to the start date of your stay in all of the following cases:+.

  • COVID 19 (positive test or in contact with someone positive)
  • Other medical reasons (health state not allowing you to move or go in holidays)
  • Professionnal reasons
  • Personal reasons

Further details:

Case 1: Cancellation D+8 before the beginning of the stay :

The sums paid for the reservation will be converted into a credit note valid for 1 calendar year or reimbursed at the customer’s request. (Excluding cancellation guarantee).

Case 2: Cancellation between D-8 and D-0 before the beginning of the stay :

A voucher for the sums paid will be issued and valid for 1 calendar year (excluding the amount of the cancellation guarantee).

This option is to take maximum in the following 48h of your booking, it corresponds to 10% of the price of your stay (without added services)

Without the cancellation insurance, all the reasons above-mentioned can not justify a cancellation of your stay. We invite you to consult theGeneral Terms and Conditions

Is there a deposit to make?

Yes, we ask for a 30% deposit within 8 days of booking and the balance of the stay no later than 30 days before your arrival.

Are the availibilities on the website updated?

Yes, all our availabilities are updated instantaneously, the search is done according to the date of stay or via the lodge page according to the cabin. Don’t hesitate to call us directly at 0474303232 to make your reservation together.

Is there a waiting period to receive the confirmation of my internet request?

You will receive your booking confirmation or a reply to your internet request within 24 to 48 hours. Always check your junk/spam mail.

What are the payment options?

You can pay by cheque, credit card, cash, vacation vouchers, ANCV Connect and bank transfer.

We also accept certain Wonderbox offers and Cabanes de France vouchers for stays.

Practical information

What time can I arrive?

Keys are handed over from 3pm , but you are welcome to arrive earlier to take advantage of the Domaine.
Simply report to reception, where our team will welcome you and provide you with access bracelets, a map and explanations of our offers.

All arrivals after 6pm must be notified to reception so that we can organize your arrival together.

Can we go the swimming pool for the day?

Our swimming pool is not accessible if you are not staying with us. Neither are walks around our estate or to our animal parks. This is reserved for people with a reservation.

If you come for the day, you’ll have access to accrobranche, mini-golf, mountain biking, Rosalie, Duo Bike, rowing, fishing, SPA…

What time do we need to leave the accommodation on day of departure?

Accommodation must be vacated by 11 a.m. at the latest (it is possible to check out at 3 p.m. if the cabin is not relet for €15 (check with reception on site).

You are welcome to stay all day on the estate and enjoy the activities and animals after vacating your accommodation.

How much is the entry cost to the animal parks?

We don’t offer day passes like the zoos. The animal zone and the rest of the estate are reserved for people with a reservation.

If you come for the day, you’ll have the chance to see our animals if you book one of the following activities:
– Private visit with an animal keeper.

– Rent a mountain bike, Mono/duo bike or Rosalie to discover the Domaine while pedaling for 1 hour.

– Escape Quest: discover the estate through a treasure hunt full of enigmas.

Can we visit the Domaine and the accommodations for a future booking?

No, it is not possible to visit in order to preserve the tranquility of our vacationers staying at the Domaine and mostly to keep some surprise. You’ll find all the relevant information on our website, and of course our team is at your disposal for any further details you may require.

Is there a wifi connection?

At the Domaine de la Dombes, disconnection is in the spotlight. So, no wifi throughout the Domaine !
A wifi point is only available at reception and in the bar.

Is there charging station for electric cars on the spot?

There are no charging points for electric vehicles at the Domaine. However, you will be able to find one in nearby supermarkets (about ten minutes away).

Can I join the Domaine by public transports?

There is no public transport to the Domaine. The nearest train station is in Saint Paul de Varax, 4km away.

Can I come with horses?

We are listed as a “Relais étape” on the Ain à cheval website. You can bring your horses to the Domaine. We have a saddlery at your disposal, and we can welcome your horses in our donkey and toy donkey parks.

Stay

What should we bring for a night in a cabin?

It is essential to bring a flashlight, toiletries (towel, shower gel and shampoo), a water bottle and a charged cell phone.

Pillows, sheets and comforters are provided on site.

Remember to bring a credit card for the accommodation deposit.

Can I come with a baby?

We have a number of family cabins available for children under 2: Iris, Ranch, Fawn, Boar, Oak, Glade, Prestige, Hedgehog, Imp, Owl, Dovecote, Marcassin, Reserve, Caba’tente and Sika.

We offer rental and installation of an umbrella bed in a selection of cabins. Contact reception for rates and availability.

Under 2 years old the child is free, more than 2 years old the child is considered as an extra person occupying a bed and taking a breakfast.

For camping rentals, the Meublés, Casas and Hekipia ranges can accommodate an umbrella bed under certain conditions (please call or e-mail for details).

Can I come with a pet?

Pets are welcome on our bare pitches, and in our camping accommodations (Meublé de tourisme, Casas, Hekipia). They are not, however, permitted in unusual accommodation.

Your vaccination record must be up to date. You can walk around the estate with your pet on a leash, but they are not allowed in the animal area.

Can we have visitors during our stay?

Each guest can have only one visitor per day. (E.g.: if there are 3 of you staying, you can have a maximum of 3 visitors).

They must present themselves at reception, indicating the name of the resident, and pay a fee of €4 per person.
All visitors under 2 years of age are free.
With this bracelet, visitors have the right to access the Domaine on foot and for swimming (the vehicle must remain in the outside parking lot in front of reception).
All visitors must leave the site by 7pm.

Can I book several accommodations for a group?

It is possible to book several accommodations for a stay with family or friends.

However, to ensure that your stay goes as smoothly as possible for you and for us, party nights are out of the question, and certain rules must be respected.

Catering

Is breakfast included?

Breakfast is included and delivered to all our lodges in the morning between 8:30 and 9 am. It includes bread, butter, jam, honey, spreads, pastries, fruit juice and hot drinks.

Breakfast is not included for the Meublés, Casa and Hekipia ranges , but can be added as an optional extra for €12 per person.

Eat on the spot?

We offer on the spot:

  • the delivery of dinner basket
  • takeaway sales of a 100% local produce tasting session
  • sale of drinks and snacks at reception (chips, terrine, water, soft drinks, beer, etc.)
  • A snack bar with a wide choice of snacks (open at certain times of the season)

You can bring your own cold picnic, or go out and dine in one of the local restaurants. The choice is yours!

IMPORTANT: no cooking device is allowed (bbq, plancha, raclette device, crepe device…)

Gift coupon

How long is a gift coupon valid?

Our gift vouchers are valid for 2 years from the date of purchase. The validity date is indicated on the gift voucher. The estate is open from April to November (depending on the season), but we have a year-round telephone service for reservations. We recommend booking in advance for availability on a Saturday evening (6 to 8 months in advance).

Is it possible to extend the validity of a gift coupon?

Yes, you can extend the vailidity of a gift coupon for an extra year, for the price of 20€. The extension demand needs to be done in writing before the initial ending date of the gift coupon.

Can we modify our gift coupon?

Yes, your gift voucher can be modified: number of people, type and range of accommodation, various options. Just call us directly or send us an e-mail to discuss it together.

Fidelity program

What benefit can I get from the fidelity program?

By subscribing to the loyalty program, you accumulate points which entitle you to discounts on your next stays, according to different levels. Find out more about this program here.

How to become a member of the fidelity program?

How many points do I need to benefit from discounts?

Over the course of your stay, you’ll be able to accumulate points to reach different levels and benefit from discounts. The tiers are as follows:

  • HORTENSIA: from 1000 to 2500 points; you will benefit from a -5% discount for your next stays
  • EPICEA: 2500 to 000 Points; you will benefit from a -10% discount for your next stays
  • SEQUOIA: 5000 Points et +; you will benefit from a -15% discount for your next stays

How are the points calculated?

The points are calculated depending on your stays at the Domaine. 1€ = 1 POINT (on the price of the nights only, pre-tax price)

When are my points credited?

Your points will be credited to your account 3 days after your departure. You can check your points on your account online.

What is the period of validity of my fidelity program?

You fidelity card in valid 2 years from the date of your subscription.

Can I give my points to somebody else or have many accounts?

The fidelity program is nominative; only one account by person is possible.
